Rodas wins special environment prize at 'Utkarsh En-Vision 2004'

Rodas, the designer ecotel at Powai has won the special environment award at the recently concluded "Utkarsh En-Vision 2004' held at NITIE (National Institute of Industrial Engineering). The environment prize went to Reliance Industries whereas Rodas was awarded a special prize, for being environment conscious despitebeing in the hospitality industry where environment is not such an essential subject. The jury felt that other corporates had built in environment and safety measures, as it is essential for their operations. However, Rodas has taken commendable initiatives in an industry where there is not a lot of awareness about being environment conscious. The corporates that participated included companies like Asian Paints, IL&FS, Kaizen, Tata, United Phosporous Ltd. and Kodak.

Commenting on the ocassion General Manager of Rodas, Sunny Sriram said, "This special prize is a testament to our efforts and environment initiatives at Rodas.We have always believed in being responsible to society and have taken measures in helping reduce wastage and using environment friendly products in the hotel. We are only the second hotel in India to be certified an ecotel. We also manage the largest private owned vermiculture pit in the city which turns garbage into organic manure"
