urges people to join its campaign "Say No to Fire-Crackers"
Rodas, the designer ecotel at Powai urged people to join its
campaign "Say No to firecrackers". As part of the
campaign a huge white canvas was put up on 9th November from
5 pm onwards near the hotel. Noted social activist Priya Dutt
and kids from Cancer Patients Aid Associattion (CPAA) painted
their messages on the canvas.

Nilesh Limaye Executive Chef, Rodas Ecotel who also heads
its Green Team said ," During this time there is a sharp
increase in air and sound pollution in the city. The firecrackers
being burst emit a lot of smoke and also raise the decibel
levels above the accepted limit. The smoke, in addition to
being injurious to health also disturbs the ozone layer and
there is an increase of asthma attacks during this period.
We are urging people to have a less noisy and less polluted
Diwali by lighting the traditional diyas and exchanging sweets."

Said the environment officer Rajul Samel, , "We at Rodas
have always been in the forefront on environment issues and
have a 'Green Team', which initiates special steps on environment
and also educates the general public on the same. We run the
largest private owned vermiculture pit in the city and have
undertaken public awareness campaigns on days like 'World
Earth Day', 'World No Tobacco Day', 'World Environment Day'
etc. We also take special care to use only environment friendly
products in our hotel."
