"Dharti Meri Maa" says Rodas' Green Team on World Earth Day
Rodas, the designer business ecotel's dedicated
Green Team urged people to protect the environment and save
Mother Earth on the occasion of World Earth Day on 22nd April.
Enacting skits near Shopper's Stop (Mulund), the members of
the Green Team attracted a lot attention from the general
public.
Commenting on the ocassion Sunny Shriram, General Manager
- Rodas, said "The current environment situation is very
alarming and needs immediate attention from the general public
as well as corporates and other government/ non- government
institutions. We decided to take a small step in educating
people towards this cause through this skit on the occasion
of World Earth Day. If everyone of us dedicates a little amount
of time towards the environment or conservation of electricity,
water and other basic resources it will go a long way in making
this world a better place to live in."
The skit was enacted by members of the Green Team (headed
by Chef Nilesh Limaye), which takes care of the environment
initiatives of the hotel. The skit reminded people about the
need to curb wastage of electricity and water - two of the
most basic necessities whose demand is outstripping its supply.
Aptly named "Dharti Meri Maa", the skit educated
people about the harmful effects of toxic fumes emanating
from vehicles, industries and other sources.
Added Chef Nilesh," Existing employees of the hotel from
different departments have joined together and formed The
Green Team. All of us dedicate a little bit of our time from
the routine work towards environment conservation. Even in
the hotel during the day-to-day work contribution towards
the environment is kept in mind. The usage of plastic is not
allowed in the hotel and papers, pens used in the hotel are
made from recycled material. We also have a vermiculture pit
which is the largest owned by any private hotel in Mumbai,
to convert the waste generated by the hotel into organic manure."
